Suspect Sexual Abuse -Report it Now!

SOME VICTIMS OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE
FIND IT REALLY HARD TO
TALK ABOUT IT

If you know of, or even suspect that someone is sexually abusing a child, no matter who, you should report it.

If you are a doctor, teacher, principal school counsellor or early childhood teacher in a school, you are required by law to report the suspected child abuse to the Department of Community Services or the New South Wales Police Force.

Children need special protection by the law because they usually do not have the means to help themselves. Bringing abused children to the notice of authorities is the first step in preventing further abuse and attempting to deal with the underlying causes which give rise to the abuse.

By taking positive action, you may be helping break the cycle of abuse, which often continues to the next generation.
