There are different forms of child abuse. These include sexual, physical and emotional abuse and neglect.

Sexual abuse is when an adult or someone else who is bigger or older than a child involves a child in a sexual activity by using their power over a child, or taking advantage of a child’s trust. Often children are bribed or threatened physically and psychologically to make them participate in the activity. It can take many forms, including exposure, fondling, voyeurism, sexual intercourse, pornography and child prostitution.

Child sexual abuse is a crime. Most cases are only reported after a long history of abuse.
