I worked with Bruce at the Broken Hill Police Citizen’s Youth Club between 1990 and 1992. I remember clearly how Bruce always knew how to light up a crowd especially if it involved them digging deep into their pockets in raising money to enable the PCYC to help local kids. He was incredibly quick-witted, easy-going and an all-round great person. His ability to earn the respect and admiration amongst the local Broken Hill community was testament to his fine character and endearing nature. A good friend and respected mentor. I’m saddened to hear that he has passed.

  • If it is the same Bruce Smith and I think it is, he was attached to Cronulla in 1974 or earlier, he was serving summons and warrants. Really nice bloke….
