I’m James’s older first cousin I was born in Maitland we grew up together from childhood to teenagers. I now live in Sydney. I was so fortunate to see James about 8 years ago in an airport in Korea; we had a great chat; we hadn’t seen each other for over twenty years. He was a great guy who loved life and I’m sure he appreciated the wonderful family he leaves behind.

Thank you for keeping us in the loop Leonie. I will never forget the trip from Sydney to Hamilton Island and back with Jim onboard. He was one of the best you can think of. So kind, positive and lots of fun…a real pleasure to be around. RIP Jim.

Jim was a treasured friend by this Yank cop, for over 45 years. Travel to four continents and a bunch of Auz, with many pub stops along the way. A fine man, gone far before his time yet, now in a better place, with the Lord. Look forward to seeing you again in the great beyond my dear friend!

Thank you Jim for making my dear friend and your wife happy. I know you shared many happy tours and gigs along the way together and I know she misses you terribly You were a warm wonderful step-in grandfather too. Keep watch and peace as you look down over us. You are loved and missed ❤️

Watch over us from your vantage point at that Police Station in the sky and, when my turn comes, make sure we are on the same shift.

I served in United Nations, Cyprus with Jim in 1975.  There was just a hand-full of us. 12,000+K from home, no phone or internet, nightly curfews, we had to live in each other’s pockets.  Does not sound appealing, yet the majority grew to love that war-torn island and we became life-long friends – J.J. especially.  Even though close on 50 years have elapsed.  We saw a lot of each other at Licensing Conferences, United Nations Day Parades in Sydney and Reunions all over Australia.  We even went on cruises and re-visited Cyprus on another occasion.  I just wish I could have made it back to Sydney… Read more »
