FURTHER INFORMATION IS NEEDED ABOUT THIS MAN.

Kevin Bannister looking into this man.

East Maitland Anglican Cemetery, was also know as ‘Glebe’ Cemetery. Came across an inscription (on another site) John LEE, Sgt Mounted Police. Died 18/7/1851 age 49.

Other inquiries show that he was in the Maitland area for some time in ‘the mounties‘.

At the time of his death he was the publican of the White Horse Inn at Maitland which is where he died. However, can’t find out if he had retired/resigned at the time of his death or if was still serving.

Regards.

Kevin Banister
