13 June 2014:

On Sunday 6 July 2014, Goulburn Local Area Command ( LAC ) commenced using ‘ The Hume LAC

From Sunday 6 July 2014, the Goulburn Local Area Command will be called The Hume Local Area Command. The process to change the name of the Command started 2 years ago, and after consultation with community members and Local, State and Federal government representatives, approval was given to change the name.
The Command incorporates the major centres of Bowral, Yass and Crookwell as well as Goulburn and the common link across the Command is the 250km stretch of the Hume Highway. It is because of this that ‘The Hume’ was considered the most appropriate alternative to the current name. This change of name will more adequately describe the large area your Police encompass and the community that your Police serve.

All contact numbers will remain the same and the change of name will have absolutely no effect on staffing levels or the service provided to our community.

The name change will officially take effect on the 6th of July, 2014.

Regards,
