Sincere sympathy to Julie and their children.

Knew Nicko for many years before I retired from NSWP at Casino station. I had pleasure of knowing him and Julie and the children for many years. He was one of the better people in this world. Rest in peace.
So so so sad he must have felt so alone to not be able to reach out may you rest easy brother Just remember everyone that your not immune to the black dog keep talking out about your struggles it’s nothing to be ashamed about and those who judge have never walked a mile in PTSD or depression shoes it’s a constant battle you fight every day and when ppl hurt you it sends you into a deeper hole U feel U will never get out of this is why I teach my kids to be kind no matter what… Read more »
I met Steve, Julie and their children on a Lightning Ridge Police Bush Safari, he was always smiling and very helpful. Steve came on another safari trip to Cape York with some colleagues and his son. Very sad RIP Steve.
Met Steve while renewing my forklift license. He Ran the ” all wheels ” driving school in Casino. Could have taught him instead lol. He called me ‘ speedy Gonzales ‘ while carrying a load in reverse at full throttle around his prearranged witches hats. Naturally I passed, but I fucked up the paperwork lol. So Steve called me early on a Saturday morning. I had my 6 year old Rory for my allotted weekend. Steve called “‘ hey Luke, are you home?”. ” Yes Steve “. So he rocks up 5 mins later in his Superman suit and NSW… Read more »
So Sad many a time he backed me up in Nimbin.
Let’s start another wall of remembrance
For those who die as a result of job.
Steve worked for me at the Highway Patrol, then the Northern Rivers HWP.
He was based at Casino and was a thorough gentleman.
Given any task he would carry it out and always let me know what the result was.
Far too young for this tragedy to have happened. What a shame that he could not have confided in someone, he had many, many friends who would have helped him if they had know.
To Julie and family, our deepest condolences.
