Constable George was drowned near Parramatta, probably on Friday 30 May, 1816. Little is known of the incident other than the Sydney Gazette article of 15 June, 1816 which reported that Thomas George, a constable of Windsor, was unfortunately drowned near Parramatta during the late inclement season. He left Parramatta to return to Windsor on Friday 13th  and was missing until Tuesday last, when his body was discovered in a water course, which it is supposed he had attempted to wade through, but was unhappily foiled in the attempt by the force of the current, which precipitating him into deeper water, every effort to save himself proved ineffectual.

At the time of his death the constable was stationed at Windsor.
