Lyn BENDEN, widow of Bill BENDEN, passed away on Wednesday 22 March 2023 at Gosford Hospital, NSW, aged 85.

There was a private funeral service, for Lyn, on Monday 3 April 2023.


Further information will be posted when known.

It is believed that Bill, upon his Retirement from NSW Police, returned to his working life as a General Support Officer ( G.S.O. ) around the Gosford area..

POLICE IN GOLF COMP.

Forty-five members and visitors of Burwood Police Golf Club last week competed in the Annual Presidents’ Cup golf day at Fox Hills Golf Club. Winners of the members’ and visitors’ events each received 22 carat gold coffee set.

Next golf day will be held at Concord on Thursday, July 20, – commencing at 8 a.m. All members and visitors are welcome to attend.

Results of the President’s Day are:— . POLICE — 1st, Det.-Sgt. 3/c Angus Walker, of Penrith, with a net 55; 2nd, Constable 1/c Walter Laycock, of Newtown with a net 61;  3rd,: Det. Constable 1/c Bill Benden, of Darlinghurst, with a net 63. VISITORS — 1st, Mr. Chas Linnegar, managing director of Cedray Pty. Ltd., North Auburn, with a net 62; 2nd, Mr. Austin Osborne, well known local businessman, with a net 67; 3rd, Mr. Allan Baillie. of Merrylands, with a net 68.
