Michael John MIDDLETON.    Written on front: To my Darling. Love Mike.   xxxx

The Detectives office being on the ground floor of the 3 storey building on the left – looking down the ( then ) driveway, from Smart St, which went between both buildings.

When Mick arrived at work in the morning, he complained of a tooth ache / pain in his jaw.  He was sitting at his desk and said he did not feel good and collapsed to the floor. His workmates were later told that he was gone before he hit the ground. He was survived by a wife and two young daughters.

Mick was a nice bloke and always approachable.
